Adriano Galliani at the end of the match against Lecce praised the changes made in the second half by Carlo Ancelotti, who did well to read the difficulties on the pitch.
MILAN - After the victory obtained in the final minutes of the match against Lecce Adriano Galliani doesn't want to hear talk of luck and explained why:
"In the first match against Lecce I want to remind that we conceded a goal in the last minutes of the match. Without conceding that goal we could have given a different turn to the season because we were on top of the table and we would have gained points on our followers. Tonight the exact contrary happened and we took back what had been taken away from us. So I think that overall 4 points against this team over two matches are completely deserved. Tonight we won thanks to our coach Carlo Ancelotti. He read the game well and during the break he anticipated to all the players how they had to position themselves on the pitch. He understood the necessity to widen the play by bringing Ronaldinho and Pato wide with two central strikers like Sheva and Inzaghi. This kind of square advantaged us. Near the end I saw the prestigious signatures of Shevchenko and Inzaghi and I like to remind that with these two splendid players we won two Champions Leagues. Sheva is doing well, you can tell during the trainings and he's happy, too bad we can't play with 5 strikers but for us he remains a symbol, he's the player, for those who don't remember Nordahl, who has scored the most in 110 years of our club's history. I would also like to cite Giuseppe Favalli, he is like Costacurta, he is very good at reading the movements of the opponents. Too bad we can't change his identity card because otherwise we would continue with him for many years."
After the words of delegate administrator Adriano Galliani there was the comment of coach Carlo Ancelotti:
"Those who came in tonight gave the team a big hand. Against Lecce we struggled, we lacked alertness and we played with little order on the pitch. Sheva is working a lot and we have a lot of respect for him. He is training with seriousness and today he gave a big hand aside from the pass to Inzaghi. Ronaldinho was very motivated, he is clearly improving and I hope his condition improves. Now we have a difficult away match against a team which plays good football. It will be tough against Chievo. Irreplaceable players in this team? There are a lot of them but it doesn't mean they should always play. In Pato I recognise unique and exceptional qualities but it also makes me angry because I would like him to have more continuity. In any case there aren't any players like him at his age."
