MILANELLO - Here are the declarations made by Massimo Ambrosini to Milan Channel's microphones today at Milanello before the training session:
Massimo, we are in an important week: after the league break there is the match against Lecce.
"Yes, when you arrive at the end of the season each match becomes important. At the moment we have a minimal advantage in the table which will be important to keep, we'll have to win. We have four matches, in theory, against less important teams, but that won't make them less complicated."
How do you evaluate Milan's league season?
"We have to admit we could have done better. We already should have known in the past, but now we should not look back. We are aware of our mistakes and now we have to reach our last remaining objective, the qualification to the Champions League, which is the most important thing.
In past years this team experienced wonderful moments in the Champions League, although we could have done more in the league also in the last few seasons. This year there have also been numerous injuries which conditioned us, even though we won't use that as an alibi.
Other teams have had many injuries too: also Juventus, Inter, and Roma have had a lot of injuries, with the latter having to play a Champions League eighth final in absurd conditions.
Certainly it's too bad because traumatic injuries like those to the knee can happen, but then there's also chance, bad luck and some inconvenience. At various levels it's all part of the game."
