MILANELLO - Here are the declarations made by Clarence Seedorf to Milan Channel's microphones today before the afternoon training session:
First of all, Clarence, happy birthday! How will you celebrate?
"Thanks! It will be a very calm birthday that I will celebrate with my family."
Now let's talk about Milan and the aim to reach third place in the league.
"Reaching the third place was one of the first objectives, since the start of the season. At the moment we are in the right position in the table. We have to continue like this, also trying to get as close as possible to the second place to have even more tranquility."
So you are looking forward and not at the teams behind you?
"No, I think it's right to look forward without fear and try to reach the second place. It can only be a positive stimulation and we can achieve it thanks to the calendar: we all still have important matches to play."
In the last two away games Milan earned four points.
"Yes, they were two positive results. Now we have to get more important points in our next three games. The morale is there, it's right. We have to get the highest amount of points because even though they seem like easy games on paper, we know they will be tough, but if we give the maximum we know we can reach our objective, especially because we are playing two games at home."
Sunday Lecce arrive. What do you remember from the first match against them this season?
"Certainly a bitter aftertaste because we had played a good match, but in the end it slipped from our fingers. On Sunday we will play at home, it will be another match and with the right grit and will to win we'll have to get three points at all costs."
Do you think that some of the players' participation to international matches will have an influence?
"We are used to it at this level. The players involved with national teams have to do well to think about Milan again and find the time to rest and the right concentration to be charged up for the match. But they are all players with some experience. Milan are going through an important moment and everyone knows it."
